Brittany Webb

Brittany Webb, MEd   ·   A Director of Greater Than Math, Brittany is an educator at Woodbury Elementary School in Shaker Heights, Ohio. She is the founder of the Rising Stars Enrichment Program designed specifically to increase the minority population in advanced mathematics courses within the Shaker Heights City School District by strengthening the mathematical foundation of minority students throughout the school year (a local news segment on Rising Stars can be viewed here). Brittany is also involved with the Woodbury Positive Behavior Support, which is a school wide positive behavior support framework designed to encourage, support and maintain positive academic environments.

Dionissi Aliprantis

Dionissi Aliprantis, PhD   ·   A Director of Greater Than Math, Dr. D has authored the grades 7-12 textbook Math As Flexibility of Mind used in our summer camps and enrichment programs. As the Director of the Program on Economic Inclusion and a Senior Research Economist at the Cleveland Fed, he uses mathematical models and statistics to evaluate social programs. Prior to founding Greater Than Math, he worked with medical non-profits in Latin America, spent time evaluating community-driven development programs in rural Haiti, and taught recreational math to middle and high school students.

Jenny Hawkins

Jenny R. Hawkins, PhD   ·   A Director of Greater Than Math, Jenny is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Case Western Reserve University, where she researches issues concerning law and antitrust. As the Director of the Economics Undergraduate Program, her focus is on teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduate students. She has won multiple university-wide teaching awards while at Case Western (a description of her teaching can be read here). In the classroom she puts emphasis on helping students apply mathematics to explain human behavior and decision making.
